The Mississippi Center for Public Policy is an award-winning 501(c)3 non-profit advocacy organization.
Mississippi is one of the poorest states in America. We exist to help try to change that.
Strictly non-partisan, we make the case for low taxes, light regulation, free markets, and individual liberty in Mississippi and across America.
We focus on:
- The economy: If Mississippi is to prosper, we need lower taxes and less regulation. We spearheaded the campaign to abolish the state income tax, which culminated in the Mississippi Tax Freedom Act in 2022.
- Improving education: For too long, education standards in our state have been far below what our state is capable of achieving. We believe in giving parents more choices and enabling innovation in public education. We are pushing for reform to ensure Mississippi funds students, not systems. We are also pushing for reforms that would allow greater innovation in public education, including university reform.
- Deregulation: Mississippi is one of the most overregulated states in the Union. We have been at the forefront of efforts to eliminate protectionist practices in healthcare, and rules that hold back small businesses.
- American exceptionalism: If America is to remain free, the rising generation needs to understand and appreciate what makes America so exceptional. We are engaged in a hearts and minds campaign to do this across our state.
