Richard is a dedicated professional with a wealth of experience in campaign management, fundraising, and community engagement. Throughout his career, Richard has demonstrated a strong commitment to driving positive change and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Richard served seven years in the TN Comptroller of the Treasury’s Office, holding the position of the State’s Small Business Advocate for six of those years. As the Small Business Advocate, Richard assisted businesses with 50 or fewer employees in navigating state government. Additionally, Richard served as a legislative agent where he liaised the legislative message of the Comptroller’s office to the Tennessee General Assembly.
After leaving the Comptroller’s Office in Tennessee, Richard joined the Kentucky REALTORS® Association (KYR) as their Director of Government Affairs. In this role, Richard served as the primary manager of all fundraising, political, and public policy programs of the Kentucky REALTORS® and the REALTORS® Political Action Committee. Richard also oversaw the operations and fundraising for the Kentucky REALTORS® Relief Foundation, a 501(c)3 foundation.
As a seasoned fundraising leader, Richard has held key roles in various organizations, where he excelled in developing and implementing strategic plans to advance mission-driven objectives. His ability to cultivate relationships with stakeholders and mobilize teams has been instrumental in achieving organizational goals and maximizing impact. Richard's expertise in donor relations and major gifts has played a crucial role in securing vital funding and support.
With a keen understanding of the complexities of the association and nonprofit sectors, Richard has successfully managed portfolios of major donors, exceeding revenue goals and fostering lasting connections with supporters. His strategic approach to fundraising, coupled with his exceptional communication skills, has enabled him to effectively convey the impact of donor contributions and inspire continued support. Richard is deeply committed to community engagement and volunteerism, serving on boards and committees, and contributing to the success of community-driven initiatives.
